The old town area is highlight. Trams extreme cheap.
The old town area is highlight. Trams extreme cheap. Centre main road pedestrianised well with a walk. Outside haven’t got much to see but is pleasant. People and bus drivers can be rude and ill mannered but Apparantly this is known. Younger people seem very good and helpful. Language is a problem at times.

Very interesting city, with both old medieval/Baroque city center, but also with a newer one from the 20s and 30s if 20th century, with lots of modernist architecture (UNESCO listed) The city is doing a lot in order to renovate, major sights are already in great shape.

What a beautiful city, clean, safe, spacious, green (by this I mean lots of trees and open spaces AND green initiatives like trolley buses, pedestrian spaces and robot mowers!).
Really interesting architecture (beautiful central domed cathedral and period architecture buildings), street scenes and cafe culture. Longest shopping street in Europe! Euro currency. A safe, family feel. Great Bolt taxi service and good choice of hotels and restaurants. Lots of cafes, bars and pubs. Good for couples, families and friends. I really loved it. I’m told it is very Lithuanian, which would be great praise for the country. It should have been higher up my travel list. We came from the UK for the Nord Orthopaedic clinic (VERY EXCELLENT) but will be back for holidays. Nice straight talking locals with excellent English language. Its really easy. Also a great, modern, close airport. All good.

Kaunas is our native city - we love everything about it, especially since we don't live here and come to visit just every now and then.
Favorite places: Laisves Aleja (the main walking street) full of cute outdoor cafes and the Old Town - ancient yet well looked after, with all its galleries and old buildings.
Almost any cafe is good - you find European cuisine, fusion, native Lithuanian. Good coffee and exquisite pastries everywhere.
The Akropolis shopping mall is good for shopping (the sales are REAL SALES), eating out, and buying food/drinks in the Maxima supermarket on the ground floor. A unique 'kepyklele' (bakery) by its entrance!
Kaunas has two theatres (drama and musical), a very good philharmonic hall, the Zalgiris Arena stadium, and there is always something very cultural going on.
From the moment you enter the hotel, your amazing experience begins. The personnel is helpful and very nice. The amenities are not only convenient but aesthetic and well thought through. And the breakfast is the best so far I had in Kaunas hotels. Moreover, the location can not be any better - you are staying at the heart of the city, and everything is around within walking distance. Plus, they have their own parking. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
The location was perfect, actually in the modern centre and a few minutes walk from the airport bus stops - unless you preferred to stay in the more distant Old Town or calmer residential areas and to avoid the ground floor with windows offering direct contact with car parking payers. Relatively calm inside, as per the city centre. Modern design, everything you might need was there in good shape, constructive communication with the host company.
The room was small, but there was everything a guest could need - necessary kitchen stuff, bunk bed, small table, chairs, tv. The stuff was very kind and helpful:) there was also a private parking for a car, which I find quiet an advantage, cause the hotel is located in the center of the city. Location of the hotel is really good. For this price that’s a very fair offer:)
Location was good. Downside is up the hill from the city but a tram car is available during the day. Heated floors was nice add on. As only one bath the separate toilet and shower was helpful for larger party. Was furnished well with all the basics needed for a short stay; or longer if you choose.
- Delicious breakfast (buffet) for reasonable price.
- A baby cot.
- An opportunity to stay with a cat.
- Good location in the centre of the city.
- Reasonable price.
- Free parking close to the hotel.
Overall, 2 adults, 1 baby and 1 cat were happy to stay in this hotel. :)
Very good location for exploring the city on foot, especially the Old Town.
For further afield destinations (e.g. Sugihara Museum and Train Station) the hotel kindly booked taxis for us at no extra cost.
Within a very short stroll from the main Airport bus route.
The location was perfect! It was right on the most lively parts of the city Laisvės Alėja. Old town, town hall etc are a few minutes walk from the hotel. Quite a huge room for two adults and kid. Had a balcony opening up to the streets.
I had a good stay at Hof Hotel Kaunas. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the location was perfect. I especially appreciated the option to reserve parking at the hotel for an additional 10€, making my visit hassle-free.
The location, exceptional drinks in the bar for a good price!
Clean rooms, good service!
Exceeded my expectations! Should really be at least a 4 star hotel, way better than many of the 5 star rated hotels I’ve stayed in!
The hotel is in a great location for the city with plenty places nearby for food and drink.
The rooms which were well designed and quirky were clean and there was plenty hot water.
Nice public areas for relaxing.
A very simple yet comfortable place for a short term stay. Good sound isolation, really dark in the night, soft bed, clean bathroom, friendly staff communications and a perfect location in Kaunas City Centre.
parking was just ok, with a short cut behind the building. Bar was nice with good options in a cozy seating area. Walking distance to the city centre with plenty of shopping and lunch/dinner options.
The bed was very comfortable, everything was very clean, laisves aleja was very close to the hotel that was nice, i liked that the tv had free go3 to watch
